Famous Bible Quotes on Christian Love

Maybe the verses about Christian kind of love are the most famous Bible verses we have. The Christian message that we should love everyone; even our enemies, are well known even amongst non-believers. (Even if we do not always manage to live our lives that way.)

But the wonderful message of love is really the inner core of our faith! Jesus did show us an example of an out giving love that is so contrary to the selfish, “just think about me” messages that meet us everywhere today.

It is so important for us Christians to read the verses of love that we find in the Bible, and ask God to help us live that way! As Christians, we should not have any lower standard than Gods word. We should not be conformed to this world!

Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God—what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect.
(Rom 12:2 GNB)

We should not even think that we could do this on our own! It is not in our human nature to love the ones who hurt us. The human nature wants revenge in some way. But Gods love is greater than that. Just notice, we are talking Gods love here. His very special “agape love” is a love that is an out giving love. A love with no “second agenda”, a love without hidden motives and thoughts of own gain, but just pure LOVE!

Many are those who tried to live this and failed big time. I am a very good testimony of that….sorry to say… I have heard about this love since my childhood, that God wants me to love everyone and I always thought they were great, but when life’s problem is knocking at your door, I found that they can be hard to follow.

In fact, without the word of God and His power, it is impossible to live it.

When people hurt you, maybe they have ripped you off of everything until you stand there without nothing….. that is the time when this love should rule our lives.

I just want to tell you: It takes the grace of God to do that! Believe me! I have been in situations where I myself wanted to show my anger towards people because of their actions, but instead, I had to fall on the face before God and ask Him to help me love them. And the word of God is the tool we have that takes us back on the right track.

Our great example of living our lives in love is, of course, Jesus Himself. Read the Gospels and see for yourself. He and no one else is the source of this kind of love. He showed love to those people who failed, who were hated by others and people who lived sinful lives. Jesus loved them all. Maybe the most exceptional of all, He forgave and loved those people that killed Him! You can’t find anything like this love anywhere else! His love is so great and our great mission is to fill the world with that kind of love!

Here are some of the most famous Bible verses on Christian love

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies. Pray for those who treat you badly. If you do this, you will be children who are truly like your Father in heaven. He lets the sun rise for all people, whether they are good or bad. He sends rain to those who do right and to those who do wrong. If you love only those who love you, why should you get a reward for that? Even the tax collectors do that. And if you are nice only to your friends, you are no better than anyone else. Even the people who don’t know God are nice to their friends. What I am saying is that you must be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
(Mat 5:43-48 ERV)

AJesus replied, “The most important one is this: ‘Listen, Israel! The Lord our God is the only Lord.
